Program Manager National and International Faculty Awards

The Program Manager for National and International Awards is responsible for ensuring UCSF submits nominations for prestigious national and international faculty awards (approximately 75-80% effort). Reporting to the Associate Chancellor, the position will be the institutional subject matter expert regarding applicable awards, nomination deadlines and requirements, nomination best practices, and past nominees and awardees. In consultation with senior faculty and administrative leaders, they identify potential nominees and nominators for awards, provide project management to ensure timely submission of nominations, and support the writing and editing of nomination materials. The Program Manager takes the lead in creating drafts of nomination materials and in editing nomination materials in consultation with nominators and other advisors. The Program Manager also maintains a current list of award opportunities and deadlines, and ensures information about the opportunities is effectively communicated to the UCSF community. This newly created position is intended to raise the visibility of UCSF faculty through strategically and consistently submitting strong nominations for prestigious national and international awards.

The Program Manager is also responsible for management of existing faculty award programs within the Chancellor's Office, which provides important funding to support faculty research (approximately 10-15% effort). They oversee the process for each award cycle from the call for proposals or nominations through award notification. This includes publicizing opportunities, communicating with applicants and nominators, coordinating work of the advisory committee (including scheduling meetings), submitting recommendations to the Chancellor (as appropriate), communicating with internal stakeholders such as colleagues from University Development and Alumni Affairs, ensuring recordkeeping, and implementing process improvements. Under direction of the Associate Chancellor, the Program Manager also develops processes and procedures for new award programs with the Chancellor's Office.

The position is also an important member of the Chancellor's Immediate Office team and contributes (approximately 10% effort), when needed, to the success of communications, programs, and events. The Program Manager attends team meetings, including weekly huddle meetings and office engagement sessions.

This role requires the incumbent to work onsite, with a primary work location in the Chancellor's office on the Mission Bay campus. In-person meetings may take place at various campus locations. There is an option for a hybrid schedule that allows for both remote and in person work.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $90,700 - $193,500 (Annual Rate).
