programs, and learning support initiatives.
Collaborate with faculty, student affairs professionals, and
community partners to deliver educational opportunities for
residential students.
Develop assessment tools to evaluate student learning,
engagement, and program effectiveness.
Assist with departmental marketing and communication efforts
that promote residential engagement opportunities.
Coordinate welcome initiatives and community-building
experiences throughout the academic year.
Student Leadership Development & Residential Organizations
(25%)
- Advise the Residence Hall Association (RHA).
- Advise the Residential Leader Council (RLC).
- Advise the Graduate Housing Staff Council.
- Coordinate leadership development initiatives for Residential
Leaders and graduate student staff.
- Develop and facilitate Residential Leader training programs,
in-service sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
- Assist with department-wide student staff recruitment,
selection, onboarding, and leadership development.
- Coordinate the Residential Leader Capstone Project and
leadership competency initiatives.
- Develop leadership curriculum designed to enhance
communication, conflict management, inclusion, customer service,
and community development.
- Review monthly reports submitted by Residential Leaders and
Residence Directors to identify trends, concerns, accomplishments,
and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate recognition programs celebrating student leadership,
programming excellence, and community impact.
- Assist with planning departmental retreats, staff appreciation
initiatives, and leadership conferences.
Residential Operations & Student Services (20%)
- Administer and oversee the university-wide residential
visitation process, including policy implementation, compliance,
communication, and assessment.
- Coordinate the Housing & Residence Life Work-Study Program,
including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and
supervision.
- Connect residential students with campus resources that support
academic success, wellness, financial stability, mental health, and
basic needs.
- Coordinate departmental outreach efforts related to student
success and residential support services.
- Assist Residence Directors with student case management and
follow-up for students of concern as appropriate.
- Prepare reports and analyze participation, engagement, and
student success data to support departmental assessment and
continuous improvement.
- Serve on departmental, divisional, and university
committees.
- Participate in emergency response, crisis management, and
on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Represent Housing & Residence Life during admissions
events, orientation, Open House, Spartan Preview, recruitment
activities, and university outreach programs.
- Support departmental opening, closing, transition, and Move-In
operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Housing Assignments & Occupancy Support (10%)
- Assist with annual housing room selection processes, including
student outreach, communication, education, and customer
service.
- Support housing assignment outreach campaigns and communication
initiatives during peak assignment periods.
- Assist with housing assignments for designated special
populations, including Living-Learning Communities, approved
cohorts, scholars, athletes, and other university-sponsored
groups.
- Coordinate disability-related housing accommodation requests in
partnership with Accessibility Services while ensuring compliance
with university policies and applicable regulations.
- Assist with emergency housing placements and temporary housing
assignments as needed.
- Support residence hall opening, closing, transition, and
occupancy management initiatives.
- Maintain confidential student records and documentation related
to housing assignments and accessibility accommodations.
- Serve as a resource for students and families regarding housing
assignment processes, timelines, and residential policies.
Assessment, Administrative Support & Continuous Improvement
(10%)
- Prepare assessment reports related to residential programming,
leadership initiatives, student engagement, and learning
outcomes.
- Analyze residential engagement data and recommend strategies to
improve student success and retention.
- Develop annual reports demonstrating the effectiveness of
residential education initiatives.
- Assist with departmental strategic planning, accreditation
efforts, and assessment projects.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in university
information systems.
- Support departmental technology initiatives utilizing StarRez,
THD, Maxient, Colleague, TMA, and other university software.
- Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes,
customer service, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs,
Educational Leadership, Counseling, Business Administration, Public
Administration, or a closely related field.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of full-time professional, live-in
experience as a Residence Hall Director, Community Director, Area
Coordinator, or equivalent Housing & Residence Life
professional at an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated experience implementing student development theory
within a residential environment.
- Experience developing and implementing educational programming
and student engagement initiatives.
- Experience advising student organizations, leadership groups,
or student governing bodies.
- Experience planning and facilitating leadership development
opportunities for student staff.
- Experience collaborating with faculty and campus
partners.
- Experience supporting housing operations, room selection, or
residential services.
- Experience coordinating or supporting disability-related
housing accommodations or student support services.
- Experience utilizing housing management software (StarRez, THD,
or similar systems).

Physical & Work Environment
This position is primarily performed in an office setting with
frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, families, and
campus partners. Evening and weekend work is required during major
departmental operations including student staff training, Move-In,
Move-Out, opening, closing, orientation, leadership development
programs, residential programming, recruitment events, and
emergency response. The position requires flexibility, exceptional
organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage
multiple priorities while maintaining outstanding customer service
and professionalism.
Salary Range: $47,000 - $55,000
