Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing high level support with the daily operations of the Instructional Design department and contributes directly to the strategic initiatives of the Academic Affairs division and the assigned campus. This position aids in shaping departmental direction, executing complex administrative and technical functions, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and campus standards. The role requires strong analytical, operational, and collaborative capabilities to advance departmental effectiveness and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements
• Supports the Instructional Design department in leading complex projects, the hiring process, and departmental functions that shape strategic direction and drive continuous improvement for the ID Team
• Communicates complex information clearly and persuasively to support collaborative decision making and ensure efficient workflow across teams
• Collects, analyzes, and synthesizes institutional research data related to faculty online certification status to inform departmental planning
• Manages projects, tracks progress, and produces data driven reports for cross team operations using advanced Smartsheet and spreadsheet software
• Designs and maintains dynamic dashboards that visualize departmental and campus wide needs and support evidence based decision making
• Applies advanced Canvas expertise to design, build, and maintain high quality courses and support the development of new instructional materials
• Develops, documents, and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Instructional Design (ID) team
• Monitors and manages ID Team communications, including the shared email account and incoming help tickets, to ensure timely and accurate responses
• Coordinates the software and hardware procurement processes for educational technology tools, including coordinating acquisitions, renewals, vendor communications, and compliance alignment to support instructional design needs
• Manages multiple concurrent projects effectively,

Service Excellence
• Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
• Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under periodic supervision of assigned department leader

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree and
• Three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one (1) year's working experience in a college or university setting related to the Essential Performance Requirements
• At least one (1) year’s working experience in online secondary or post-secondary teaching

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and advanced understanding of instructional design technologies, learning management systems, and project management tools
• Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
• Ability to effectively collect, organize, analyze, and report of data using this information to support effective decision making and departmental operations
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with faculty, staff, and leadership to advance strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects and tasks seamlessly and accurately while effectively managing time, meeting deadlines, supporting resources, and stakeholders
• Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
