Job Summary

The role involves coordinating the Mobile Planetarium project and other communication and education activities at the NOVA Information Center, engaging with schools, events, and the public to promote astronomy education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule the planetaria for schools and events, including logistics, transportation, staff rostering, and invoicing.
• Collect feedback for evaluations.
• Organize training sessions for staff.
• Prepare for participation in education conferences.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs.
• Maintain contacts in the education and planetarium sectors.
• Handle general and administrative tasks, such as compiling and sending education newsletters and developing educational materials.

Qualifications and Requirements

• HBO or academic level education, preferably in a beta discipline.
• Affinity with education, science communication, and astronomy.
• Familiarity with primary and secondary education curricula.
• Experience in project management.
• Flexible, stress-resistant, and creative.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Proactive work attitude.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours for events.
• Good proficiency in Dutch and English.

What the Employer Offers

• A 1-year contract for 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE), with potential for permanent extension based on performance.
• Salary ranging from €3,708 to €5,057 gross per month based on full-time (38 hours per week), plus 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
• 232 vacation hours per year (based on full-time), extra days between Christmas and New Year, various training courses, 7 weeks of parental leave at full pay, partially paid parental leave, option for home office setup, and pension contributions.
