Job Summary

The Coordinator of Adult Learning will champion institution-wide efforts to recruit, onboard, support, and retain undergraduate adult learners, including veterans, military-affiliated students, working professionals, and returning learners. The coordinator serves as the primary point of coordination for adult learner services and the university's partnership with campus partners and external agencies to ensure alignment between outreach, advising, student support, and re-enrollment strategies that promote persistence and degree completion.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

ADULT LEARNER OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT

  • Identify, engage, and support prospective adult learners and returning students through targeted outreach initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for adult learner inquiries and coordinate recruitment activities with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and community partners.
  • Partner with internal and external constituents to support contact strategies and outreach campaigns to re-engage stop-out and returning learners.
  • Represent the university at community-based, employer-based, and military-connected recruitment activities to expand adult learner pipelines.
  • Serve as the institutional liaison for the partnership with external re-enrollment agencies, ensuring seamless coordination between external outreach efforts and campus processes.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support re-enrolled students through onboarding and campus transition.
  • Monitor re-enrollment, retention, and completion outcomes for re-enrolling students engaged by external agencies.

ENROLLMENT NAVIGATION AND SUPPORT

  • Provide personalized academic and enrollment navigation, including unofficial evaluation of prior coursework, credit transfer support, and individualized education planning.
  • Connect adult learners to campus resources (testing, financial aid, support services) to address barriers and facilitate persistence.
  • Support adult learners during critical transition points, including re-enrollment, major milestones, and return-to-school adjustments.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, ASSESSMENT, AND COLLABORATION

  • Develop and implement adult learner-focused programming, including orientations, workshops, and success initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data related to adult learner engagement, persistence, and outcomes to inform continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges, advising units, and student support services to strengthen institutional responsiveness to adult learners.
  • Contribute to policy and process reviews that support adult learner recruitment, retention, and timely degree completion.

COLLABORATE

  • Support cross-functional initiatives within the Office of Military and Veteran Services that enhance outreach, engagement, and retention efforts for adult learners and military-connected students.
  • Assist with special projects, events, and strategic priorities as assigned by the Director or unit leadership, including collaboration with campus and community partners.

OTHER

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of professional experience in education, student services, program coordination, outreach, customer service, sales, or other related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience in adult education or adult recruitment/admissions. Experience with Banner, Slate, and DegreeWorks systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B8
Salary: $45,400/annually-$52,700/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
