Job Summary:
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full time (1.0FTE) open rank Instructor - Professor in Cornea and External Diseases to support our site of practice at Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado. This position will provide outpatient medical and surgical management of these specialties at UCH and Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for direct outpatient medical and surgical management of cornea and refractive disease patients at UCH and Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.
- Provides resident teaching and basic or clinical applied research.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora and Loveland, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor
- Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology.
- Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible.
Senior Instructor
- Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology.
- Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible.
- 1 year of experience in cornea and refractive disease
Assistant Professor
- Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology.
- Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible.
- Fellowship trained in cornea and refractive disease
Associate Professor
- Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology.
- Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible.
- 3+ years of experience at an associate professor rank at AMC in the cornea and refractive disease
Professor
- Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology.
- Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible.
- 5+ years of experience at a professor rank at AMC in cornea and refractive disease
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment between subspecialty ophthalmologists is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of ophthalmic diseases.
- Demonstrated interest in resident teaching and basic or clinical applied research.
Anticipated Pay Range:
HIRING RANGE:
Instructor
$190,000-$250,000
Senior Instructor
$200,000-$350,000
Assistant Professor
$250,000 to $500,000
Associate Professor
$300,000 to $600,000
Professor
$350,000 to $650,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
