Summary of Position
The COSI Case Manager provides proactive, high-touch case management and holistic, wraparound support services to students participating in the grant-funded COSI Achieve program at Red Rocks Community College. Working under the guidance of the COSI Program Manager, this role focuses on direct student engagement through one-on-one and small group interactions, outreach, progress monitoring, and referrals to campus resources that support student persistence, completion, and overall success.
The Case Manager maintains an assigned caseload of COSI Achieve scholarship recipients and plays an important role in helping students navigate college processes, access financial aid and support services, and overcome barriers to success. This position also supports program activities, participates in student events, maintains required documentation, and assists with data collection and reporting in alignment with grant requirements. The role involves substantial face-to-face and individualized contact with a diverse student population. This is a part-time 20 hours per week, non-benefit eligible grant funded position, contingent upon continued funding.
A successful candidate possesses a strong student-centered approach and is at ease with the following:
- Providing proactive, individualized case management and student support, including regular outreach, progress monitoring, goal setting, referrals, and follow-up to support student persistence and completion.
- Navigating college systems and processes, including admissions, onboarding, financial aid, and use of student information systems, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting grant reporting requirements.
- Working collaboratively with campus partners and program staff, communicating student needs and emerging issues, and contributing to coordinated, wraparound support services for COSI Achieve students.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard technology tools used for documentation, communication, and data tracking.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and small groups, including facilitating information-sharing sessions when appropriate.
- Ability to effectively represent the college in interactions with students, families, and campus partners.
- Demonstrated accuracy and strong attention to detail in documentation, data entry, and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision while maintaining responsiveness to student needs.
- Knowledge of federal financial aid processes sufficient to support student navigation and referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Relevant experience in student services, advising, case management, outreach, or related student support roles.
- Experience using databases and generating reports to support student tracking and program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Communication, Counseling, Student Affairs, or related degree.
- Five years of student service experience including work with underserved populations.
- Experience using Banner or closely related student information system.
- State of Colorado COSI scholarship grant programs or similar student scholarship and student support services program experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Starting Salary
Starting salary range for this position is $28.62 - $31.48 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time 20 hours per week, non-benefit eligible, FLSA non-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. This position is grant funded and contingent upon continued funding.
