"Course Facilitators- Doctorate of Physical Therapy"

Job Summary

Mercy University’s DPT program is looking for course facilitators to assist with specific courses. Individuals must be licensed physical therapists with or without board certified ABPTS specialization. Course facilitators will assist in the labs and practical skills competency tests as well as potentially giving some lectures or demonstrations. They may also be asked to assist outside of the classroom for review sessions or other events to improve student success.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Assist primary course faculty with instructing and supervising students in practical skills labs in the areas of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular or cardiovascular & pulmonary physical therapy. Course facilitators will observe students performing skills and provide constructive feedback. They may be asked to assist with lecture, patient simulations or to give demonstrations in front of a group of students.

Required Skills & Experience

• Two years’ clinical experience in an outpatient, acute or subacute or inpatient hospital or other specialty setting
• Experience serving as a clinical instructor in the clinical setting is strongly desired

Education Requirements

• Graduation from a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program
• Active license to practice as a physical therapist

Physical/Other Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or move about the classroom/lab for extended periods of time up to 6 hours at a time
• Ability to effectively communicate with students and faculty
• Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per university policies
