Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Ascend department on the Dahlonega campus. The Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (CURCA) seeks a motivated and engaged team member to assist in promoting undergraduate research on the Dahlonega campus. The FWS student chosen will assist us in organizing both the Research Pitch Competition and the Annual Research Conference as well as be heavily involved in developing a social media presence for undergraduate research events. The student will also be tasked with clerical duties including double checking spreadsheets, developing flyers, taking notes, and data entry. Preference will be given to students with outstanding organizational skills and/or experience with website and social media.

Responsibilities

  • Create and post Social Media campaigns and design flyers for publicity of events (noticeboard, master calendar, etc); distribute paper flyers
  • Assist with information and logistics for events (including the Annual Research Conference, Research Pitch event and other department events.)
  • Assist in record keeping for departmental programs (mini-grants, travel grants, etc).
  • Develop/maintain list of professors engaged in undergraduate research

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
