About the Role:
Join the Curriculum Management and Quality team and contribute to the effective administration of Curtin’s curriculum approval processes.
Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will review and progress curriculum proposals and changes through Curtin’s established governance pathways, ensuring submissions are complete, compliant, high quality, and ready for Faculty and central committee consideration and implementation.
As a Curriculum Administration Advisor, you will provide advice and assistance to academic and professional staff on curriculum administration, policy, quality and compliance. You will support the use of Curtin’s Curriculum Management System (Akari) and contribute to the ongoing management of curriculum processes, documentation and approval workflows.
The role is responsible for reviewing curriculum proposals and changes, determining the appropriate approval pathway, and preparing and coordinating documentation for Faculty and central committees.
You will undertake quality assurance and compliance checking of curriculum and committee documentation, whilst exercising judgment, to ensure alignment with University policy, procedures and relevant legislation, and to support accurate system configuration, publication‑ready information and sound governance outcomes.
You will support the effective implementation of approved curriculum changes across Curtin systems, ensuring changes are implemented accurately, remain compliant, and support the accurate administration of students.
Please note: this role focuses on curriculum administration, quality and compliance rather than curriculum design or academic content development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide advice and assistance to academic and professional staff on curriculum administration, policy, quality and compliance
- Support staff in using Akari to manage curriculum proposals and changes through the approval process
- Review curriculum proposals and changes to ensure they are complete and compliant with University policies, procedures and deadlines and ready for committee consideration
- Prepare, check and finalise documentation for Faculty Courses Committee and central committee agendas
- Determine the appropriate approval pathway for proposed curriculum change and development
- Undertake quality assurance and compliance checking of curriculum information and study package content in Curtin systems
- Represent the Curriculum Management and Quality team at Faculty Courses Committee meetings, providing advice on process, compliance and committee readiness
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders, represent the team at Faculty Courses Committee meetings as required, and contribute to projects consistent with the role
Who we are looking for (Selection Criteria):
- Completion of a relevant qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training
- Experience working with large database systems and information management processes, including the ability to investigate, analyse and report on data
- The ability to learn new systems and processes as required
- High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to manage stakeholder requests with professionalism and tact
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and achieve results
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, and to build effective working relationships with staff at all levels
- Experience maintaining standard operating procedures and templates through reviewing, interpreting and applying relevant policies, procedures and legislation
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and discretion while effectively solving problems within policy guidelines
- Desirable: experience in the higher education sector
- Desirable: experience in curriculum management and approval processes
- Desirable: experience with Student One or another student administration or curriculum management system
- Desirable: data administration experience
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
