The Quality Assurance Team plays a key role in supporting the University’s academic standards and the delivery of an excellent student experience. We work closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the institution to ensure that quality assurance processes are effective, transparent and supportive of innovation in curriculum design.

We are seeking maternity leave cover for the role of Curriculum Shape Validation Coordinator, to coordinate and support the Quality Assurance elements of the University’s Curriculum Shape project. This is a pivotal role within a major institutional change programme, ensuring that programme validations and revalidations are effectively planned, tracked and delivered in line with agreed timelines and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with the Assistant Head of Quality (Validation and Review), the Head of Quality Assurance and the wider Curriculum Shape project team, you will act as a central point of coordination between Quality Assurance, faculties and professional services. You will maintain oversight of validation activity, support the organisation of validation panels, and provide accurate reporting to inform project monitoring and decision-making.

A key aspect of the role is acting as a superuser for the Curriculum Management Tool (CMT), providing guidance and support to colleagues across the University in relation to the CMT, particularly for colleagues going through validation and revalidation. You will also line manage the Curriculum Shape Validation Administrator and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of quality assurance processes and guidance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating quality assurance processes for programme validations and revalidations linked to the Curriculum Shape project
• Managing validation activity across programme tranches, assigning Quality Officers and tracking progress through key QA and project checkpoints
• Overseeing the organisation and servicing of validation panels, maintaining accurate records of programme readiness, panel membership and outcomes
• Acting as a main point of contact for CMT-related queries within the context of Curriculum Shape, providing expert advice and support
• Maintaining oversight of External Examiners and External Advisors involved in validation activity, including consent, right to work checks and honorarium processes
• Producing regular progress reports and updates for senior colleagues on the status of Curriculum Shape-related validation activity
• Supporting the development of guidance, templates and tools to assist colleagues in navigating QA processes
• Line managing the Curriculum Shape Validation Administrator and ensuring the effective delivery of their work

The successful candidate will have experience of coordinating complex administrative or project-based activity, managing information across multiple stakeholders and meeting competing deadlines. You will be highly organised, detail-focused and confident in communicating with colleagues at all levels across the University. Experience of working in a higher education quality assurance or academic governance context would be advantageous.
