Under the moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitories, offices and other public facilities areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Picks up and disposes of trash, to include the proper handling of recyclable materials.
• Dusts, sweeps, and/or dry mops.
• Cleans glass:
  • All inside areas that can be safely reached.
  • All entrance glass, including doors, inside and out.
• Sanitizes washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities.
• Fills all dispensers in rest rooms.
• Vacuums and cleans carpets and walk-off mats.
• Spot washes marks on walls and woodwork.
• Picks up debris, such as leaves and paper, around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes), from the steps, and walkways leading to buildings.
• Reports to immediate supervisor or to work control damage and/or malfunction of equipment observed within assigned areas.
• Performs other duties assigned within the normal scope of the department's responsibilities and the individuals capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to follow both verbal and written directions. Ability to interact with customers (students, faculty, administration), co-workers, and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner. Must be able to climb ladders, to bend and reach, and to lift (up to 60 lbs.)

Preferred Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.

Salary Posting Information

$18.66 an hour + $1.75 3rd shift differential = $20.41
