Minimum Hiring Annual Salary: $79,276.00

Maximum Hiring Annual Salary: $85,619.00

To attain the maximum annual salary, employee must meet all minimum qualifications plus: 5 (five) years of additional applicable work experience and/or degrees higher than minimum qualification degree. Degrees higher than the minimum qualification degree can be used in combination with additional work experience. A combination of related education, on-the-job work experience, certifications and/or licenses that results in a candidate successfully meeting the minimum qualifications of the position, may be considered. The stated salary amounts are not guaranteed in the event employment ends with Aims during any fiscal year.

Job Description:

The Cybersecurity Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding the college's digital resources, infrastructure, and college community from cyber threats. This position monitors and responds to security incidents, manages identity and access controls, provides support, and maintains secure technology operations. The analyst will collaborate with IT staff and stakeholders to strengthen cybersecurity posture, reduce risk, and promote a culture of security awareness across the institution.

This is a hybrid position requiring in-person work at least two (2) days a week.

Security Monitoring & Response:

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and events from various systems and tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection).
  • Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents, phishing reports, and suspicious activity.
  • Document incident response actions and assist with root cause analysis and follow-up.

Support & Awareness:

  • Respond to and resolve cybersecurity-related tickets and emails from faculty, staff, and students.
  • Analyze and respond to reported phishing emails and other social engineering attempts.
  • Provide direct guidance and support to end-users on security best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training programs and campaigns for the college community.
  • Provide guidance and support to cybersecurity interns.

Vulnerability Management & Security Administration:

  • Assist in conducting regular vulnerability scans of college systems, networks, and applications.
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize findings, and work with system owners and administrators to facilitate vulnerability remediation.
  • Help manage and maintain security tools such as email protection, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and SIEM.
  • Troubleshoots issues and creates vendor support tickets as necessary.
  • Recommends security improvements to management.

Identity & Access Management (IAM):

  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot single sign-on (SSO) integrations with campus systems and third-party services
  • Manage user identities and access across on-premises and cloud identity providers.
  • Act as a point of escalation for account and access-related issues.
  • Managed access requests and perform account reviews.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and system owners to maintain secure and efficient identity lifecycle processes.

Documentation:

  • Creates and maintains up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Records information in detail related to incident handling.
  • Develops and shares reports about the efficiency of security controls and policies.
  • Creates support documentation for end users.

Other duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; plus, two (2) years in IT, cybersecurity, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ability to articulate and apply foundational IT concepts, including: Networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, subnets, ports, and protocols). Operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and their security implications. Authentication and authorization. Common enterprise technologies and architectures (e.g., Active Directory, VPN, firewalls).
  • Clear comprehension of cybersecurity principles, including common attack vectors, vulnerability types, and defense mechanisms.
  • A passion for cybersecurity with a desire for continuous learning, and an eagerness to stay updated on emerging threats and technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience managing or supporting enterprise systems or infrastructure.
  • Experience automating business or security workflows using scripting languages or tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, or no-code automation platforms).
  • Familiarity with cloud identity platforms (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Okta, etc.) and protocols (e.g., SAML, SCIM, OAuth, etc.).
  • Experience working with or supporting enterprise security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, email security platforms).
  • Experience supporting security incident response or vulnerability management processes.
  • Knowledge of identity governance concepts and lifecycle management.
  • Industry-recognized security certification(s).
