- Full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to December 2027
- Base salary will be in the range $82,133.75 - $91,295.49 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5)
- Based at our vibrant St Lucia Campus
About This Opportunity
Working within the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Capability, you will support innovations in biotechnology and radiopharmaceutical science. As part of a collaborative team of experts, you will apply and expand radiometal capabilities, including the processing of lead-212 in collaboration with our industry partner.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Perform a range of laboratory techniques including generation of radioisotopes for research use
- Under general direction, assist in the conduct of major experiments, analyse data and maintain accurate laboratory records
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and compliance with institutional safety policies and procedures
- Maintain relevant documents, comprehensive preparation/set-up notes and records of experiments
- Assist with sourcing, procuring, installing, maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Receipt, acceptance and control of materials and waste disposal as per procedure
- Test, package and prepare radioactive shipments for customers in compliance with transport and regulatory standards
- Coordinate financial administration, including raising orders and payment of invoices in accordance with relevant University policy and procedures
- Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor

About You
- A degree in chemistry/physics/ biotechnology/ biomedical engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Laboratory experience in radiopharmaceutical science or biomedical sciences
- A willingness to work with ionising radiation
- Strong understanding of safe laboratory practices and compliance
- High level organisational, communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and service expectations
- Commitment to excellence and an ability to work diligently with a high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of laboratory accreditation schemes, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), occupational health and safety
Desirable
- Practical experience working with 212Pb or alpha emitting radioisotopes
- Current Queensland Health Radiation Use Licence
