The Opportunity

Join us at the University of the Sunshine Coast where you'll lead the charge in delivering cutting-edge digital projects that uplift and empower our students, showcase our innovation to government and industry partners, and strengthen our bonds with the community. As Project Manager in the Cyber Security Program, you'll leverage your expertise in project delivery and cyber security to oversee the seamless execution of key digital initiatives. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you'll identify requirements, provide informed guidance, and ensure timely support throughout each project phase. Your role will encompass driving effective communication strategies, integrating comprehensive training programs, and managing risks to uphold quality and performance standards. 

Emphasing organisational change management, you'll facilitate the smooth adoption of project objectives. With a focus on results, you'll deliver regular progress reports, oversee procurement processes, and provide strategic recommendations to ensure the successful delivery of transformative digital projects.

You will

  • lead the implementation and delivery of cyber security projects, ensuring they align with our strategic goals, business needs, and timelines;
  • identify major project risks and work with stakeholders to manage and mitigate these challenges; and
  • oversee the integration of Business and IT requirements to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions.

About you

You're someone who thrives on leading the successful development and delivery of cyber security projects, perfectly aligning them with our university’s strategic plan. You expertly manage project resources and budgets, ensuring every objective is met, guided by our project Steering Committee. You enjoy building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, promoting the seamless adoption of projects. You have a keen ability to understand and interpret complex business needs, providing valuable insights and recommendations to senior management. Your approach to project management emphasizes integration, risk management, and quality assurance, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of every solution. As our go-to person for all project-related matters, you'll also lead the development and review of policies, procedures, and standards, making a lasting impact on UniSC’s digital landscape.

You will possess:

  • Extensive experience and strong analytical skills, with expertise in cyber security and ideally student information systems, research management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Proven understanding and experience in planning, developing, integrating, and implementing cyber security projects, preferably within higher education.
  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to lead digital impact assessments and risk mitigation to optimise business processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate teams to achieve successful outcomes, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships both within and outside the organisation.
  • Extensive experience working with vendors or commercial agents, with a solid understanding of procurement and contract management using QITC frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of guidelines, best practices, and operating principles aligned with frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS and Six Sigma.
