Dental Assitant II
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Dental Assistant II within the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Pediatric Dentistry Department. Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Dental Assistant II will provide essential clinical support to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry/Special Care. This role involves direct patient care, assisting dental providers during clinical procedures, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients with diverse needs.
Key Duties:
- Serves as a Dental Assistant in the Pediatric Dentistry/Special Care Clinic.
- Assists dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Prepares and organizes tools needed for procedures.
- Ensures the cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and operatory areas.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Monitors and maintains dental supplies and equipment.
- Follows all infection control and safety protocols.
- Provides compassionate care and assistance to pediatric and special care patients.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Minimum Education and Experience
Valid New Jersey Dental Radiological Technology License. Must be CPR Certified.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Bending and lifting up to 40 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Clinic operation, moderate noise.
