Department Administrator
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Department Administrator for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI). Under the direction of the Director and Deputy Director of the NIEHS Center for Environmental Health, this role is responsible for financial and administrative operations of the NIEHS Center for Environmental Health Sciences grant funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Performs NIEHS Center Administrator management of NIEHS Center grant. This includes report generation and compliance monitoring.
- Performs NIEHS Center management.
- Oversees grant administration including fund distribution, pilot program management, ordering, expense reporting, non-competing renewal report generation, regulatory compliance monitoring and adjudication.
- Organizes all NIEHS Center activities including, but not limited, to Center for Environmental Exposure and Disease (CEED) meetings, seminars, interviews, workshops, retreats, and community-based research and service initiatives.
- Sets agenda, invites speakers, and provides all required logistical support.
- Oversees and manages all financial aspects and administration of the Scientific External and Internal Advisory Boards including, but not limited to, scientific presentations, seminars and retreats.
- Develops and maintains accurate databases for all scientific research and publications of all CEED members.
- Directs the bi-annual research pilot project program and tracks all financial aspects of this grant program.
- Maintains status reports on all projects.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Two plus (2+) years of administrative/secretarial experience and general office operations, procedures and grant submission.

Equipment Utilized:
All office related RU software platforms (ex. Box, WebEx, Microsoft Word, Endnote, PowerPoint, SciQuest, TCM software, RAPSS, Zoom, and Concur).
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to handle office supply relocation and manipulation of items (e.g. tables and chairs) for center events assisting with set-up and tear-down.
