Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Deputy Head of Hall to join the Campus Operations Directorate at the University on a permanent, full-time basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Tumuaki Taupuni - Head of Hall to run a 24/7 efficient, compliant, cost-effective service with a focus on pastoral care, engagement and connection.
- Support the recruitment, training, development, and supervision of Residential Advisers.
- Ensure compliance with the University’s policies, procedures, and reporting obligations, those relating to health and safety and risk management.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
Key requirements:
- An understanding of the duty of pastoral care.
- Experience supporting student academic success and personal growth.
- A tertiary qualification.
- Experience in problem solving, budgeting and administration, event planning and conflict resolution.
- Experience applying restorative justice principles.
- Experience as a first responder for critical incidents and risk management experience in a welfare context would also be an advantage.
