Summary of Position
The Art Faculty is a full-time, 9-month/166-day position. The faculty member is responsible for teaching 15 credits each fall and spring semester. Courses may be taught using both traditional and non-traditional delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, computer-aided, distance learning, self-paced, and interdisciplinary. Faculty may need to teach at any RRCC campus and at a variety of times (days, evenings, and some weekends).
The faculty member develops and evaluates curricula, ensures alignment with community needs and regulatory requirements, documents curriculum changes based on assessments, implements retention strategies, and integrates technology into coursework. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining office hours, assisting with departmental duties, providing academic advising to students, participating in college events, serving on committees, and representing the college in the community. Professional development is a key component of the role, with opportunities for growth to support both teaching and service functions aligned with the college's goals.

Required Qualifications
* Master of Fine Art degree OR related Master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Art.
o Tested experience (Professional Portfolio) may be used in lieu of the degree requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the discipline.
* Actively seek opportunities for professional growth by embracing challenges, learning from feedback, engaging in professional development, and applying new strategies to improve your practice.
* Demonstrated commitment working with and supporting students from diverse populations, which may include but are not limited to, historically marginalized populations such as people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, veterans, first generation graduates, and people with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Expertise & Fabrication Demonstrated proficiency across a spectrum of traditional, digital, and contemporary art-making methods, materials, and critical theory. Candidates should possess experience with digital fabrication technologies including 3D scanning, modeling, and printing; laser cutting and engraving; and CNC routing.
- Digital Fluency & Software Proficiency Competency across MacOS and Windows platforms, with working knowledge of industry-standard creative software spanning new media, animation, and digital fabrication workflows. A proactive commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in emerging software tools and technologies is expected.
- Contemporary Art Practice & Critical Knowledge Broad familiarity with current trends and discourse is visual art, including interdisciplinary and hybrid studio practices, socially engaged and community-centered art, 4D design and emerging digital technologies, and global, cross -cultural, and decolonial perspectives. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to connect these frameworks meaningfully to studio pedagogy and curriculum development.

Advertised Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $78,000, commensurate with education and experience. This salary is based on 166 contract days. The projected start date for this position is August 1, 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, FLSA exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. Faculty may have the option to teach additional course overloads in accordance with college policies and procedures for additional compensation.
