Digital Strategist
Job Summary
Reporting to the Social Media Manager, the Web Communications Strategist supports the development and execution of strategic digital communications for Tarrant County College (TCC). This role assists the Social Media Manager in planning, creating, and maintaining engaging content across TCC's social media channels. The Web Communications Strategist also helps implement District-wide best practices and supports digital initiatives including website calendar updates, such as Localist, Modern Campus and campus map platforms, such as Concept3D, Campus Tours.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Supports the Social Media Manager in maintaining and monitoring the District's social media channels, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube
- Assists in strategizing ways to keep students engaged on digital platforms on a day-to-day basis and creating social media campaigns and contests to increase user engagement.
- Collaborates with the Social Media Manager to set paid and organic social strategies for the college with the primary goal of growing engagement with prospective students and to create original, high-quality content
- Assists with questions through TCC's social media platforms
- Tracks and reports on social media metrics and engagement
- Works with other departments across the District to ensure all social media presences are following best practices and TCC guidelines.
- Assists with building and maintaining a social media content calendar
- Stays informed on emerging digital and social trends and provides insight and recommendations to the Social Media Manager
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the Essential Performance Requirements*
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Social Media Manager
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and three (3) years of working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
At least one (1) year's working experience in a higher education environment related to the Essential Performance Requirements
At least one (1) year's working experience maintaining content on web calendars such as the College's online event calendar, such as Localist and Modern Campus
At least one (1) year's working experience maintaining campus mapping systems, such as Concept3D and Campus Tours
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices for digital communications
Knowledge of and familiarity with social media platforms, strategies, and marketing tactics
Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication which includes technical writing
Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are dynamic and unpredictable in scope and volume
Ability to analyze data and provide sound content and engagement recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
Ability to work both independently and with guidance as needed

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
