Description
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's College of Education invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with the additional responsibility of serving as the Director of the Marek-Smith Center for Teacher Preparation. The Marek-Smith Center for Teacher Preparation is a new state-of-the-art facility where undergraduate education majors work directly with children with disabilities, ages 3-21. This 12,000-square-foot facility provides cutting-edge technology, resources, equipment, and tools that enhance the learning experiences of UMHB students and program participants.

This position is available beginning in January of 2027 with an initial appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, a historic town of 22,000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles), Waco (45 miles), Austin (65 miles), San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development, student recruitment and advising, scholarly activity, and service to the department, college, university, and community.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Teach learner-centered undergraduate and graduate courses (including online instruction as well as face-to-face) related to one or more of the following:
    • Special Education
