Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Job Summary
The Director of Broadcast & Video Production is responsible for providing strategic leadership and hands-on expertise in producing and delivering high-quality live broadcasts, video board content, and creative media in support of the institution's athletics programs and major campus events. This role oversees all aspects of video board productions, live streaming, and multimedia storytelling to engage fans, enhance the game-day experience, and expand the reach of athletic programs across digital platforms. The Director supervises production staff and student employees, manages technical operations, and ensures content aligns with institutional brand standards and compliance requirements.
Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on the organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all aspects of live broadcasts for athletic competitions, including video board programming, in-venue fan engagement, and streaming to external platforms.
- Lead creative development and production of video content for athletics marketing, social media, recruiting, and promotional campaigns.
- Manage technical operations for live event coverage, including cameras, replay systems, graphics, and audio.
- Supervise and train full-time staff, student employees, and freelancers supporting broadcast and video operations.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications and other campus partners to ensure alignment with brand standards and institutional messaging.
- Coordinate scheduling, setup, and operation of video boards, control rooms, and broadcast equipment to ensure seamless event execution.
- Oversee production budgets, equipment maintenance schedules, vendor relationships, and strategic planning for future technology upgrades. Ensure all productions meet conference, NCAA, and broadcast industry standards and regulations.
- Provide vision and direction for highlight reels, athlete features, and storytelling content that enhances fan engagement and recruiting efforts.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and broadcast innovations to continually improve the fan experience and production quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.
Required Experience
8+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years of supervisory knowledge.
