Director, First-Year Experience and Students in Transition
The College of Charleston seeks a collaborative and student-centered Director of the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. This leadership role provides strategic direction and operational oversight for the institution’s First-Year Experience (FYE) program and plays a central role in advancing student transition, persistence, and success.
The Director oversees the implementation of the university’s first-year degree requirement and leads key areas including course scheduling, enrollment management, faculty coordination, student tracking, early alert interventions, budget oversight, assessment, and communications. This position also supervises professional staff. This position will be integral to the collaborative development of new programming for second-year, first-generation, and transfer students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in any field, supervisory experience, and experience managing budgets and fiscal processes. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate; experience leading first-year, transition, or student success initiatives; experience with enrollment management and student tracking systems; and experience advising, mentoring, or coaching students.
