The National Authority for Research is organizing a competition for the position of Director General of the National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics - IFT Iași, in accordance with Government Decision No. 743 of 18 September 2026 approving the Competition Methodology for the position of Director General of national research and development institutes, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, No. 804 of 22 September 2026.
The National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics - IFT Iași is headquartered in the Municipality of Iași, 47 Mangeron Boulevard, Iași County.
The field/scope of activity consists of fundamental, applied and technological research on materials with new structures and new physical properties; devices, instruments and equipment based on such materials; new methods for obtaining and processing materials; methods and techniques for materials characterization and non-destructive testing; physical methods for determining electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic pollution and compatibility; and electrical and magnetic separation methods, in accordance with Government Decision No. 1311/1996 on the establishment of the National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics - IFT Iași, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, No. 330 of 9 December 1996, as subsequently amended and supplemented.
Candidates must cumulatively meet the eligibility requirements for participation in the competition laid down in Article 17²(1) of Law No. 183/2024 on the status of research, development and innovation personnel, as subsequently amended and supplemented.
The documents required for registration in the competition are those provided for in Article 9 of the Annex to Government Decision No. 743/2026 approving the Competition Methodology for the position of Director General of national research and development institutes.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates must cumulatively meet the eligibility requirements for participation in the competition laid down in Article 17²(1) of Law No. 183/2024 on the status of research, development and innovation personnel, as subsequently amended and supplemented.
Candidates must hold at least the scientific rank of Senior Researcher II (CS II), or an equivalent academic position, corresponding to the Established Researcher (R3) profile, and must have the management experience and/or research project management experience required by law.
