General Summary

Coordinate program schedules, manage operational budget, and participate in all functions of the Childrens Center and Odessa College. Maintain a positive, caring and supportive atmosphere with staff, children, parents and students to promote development for the future.

Specific Position Duties

• Administer policies of admission, attendance, tuition and educational goals.
• Develop and implement a program for professional growth.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget.
• Monitor enrollment payments and tuition.
• Supervise all routine office work for the Center and Department of Child Development.
• Conduct tours and provide information to parents and classes.
• Provide first aid in emergencies; Conduct parent and employee orientations.
• Supervise and maintain childrens files, DHS food program paperwork, WTO paper work, requisitions and time sheets.
• Supervise permanent employees, numerous substitutes and work study students.
• Attend professional workshops and seminars.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Must meet one of the combinations of education, qualifications and experience as defined in 746.10212 of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers; Must possess maturity and sensitivity, with the ability to relate well to both children and adults. Ability to understand and follow the philosophy of the Odessa College Childrens Center. Competency in management and office skills; and Pass the WorkSTEPS physical assessment test.

Work Hours

Center Hours: Monday- Friday 7am-6pm
