Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for the Director of Clinical Education beginning in August 2025.
The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is a practicing, licensed, nurse practitioner who in collaboration with the FNP Program Director, has the responsibility of overseeing clinical education and student clinical placement for the MSN, DNP and Post-MSN Certification Programs’ Family Nurse Practitioner tracks.

Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) from an accredited institution preferred; master’s degree in nursing (MSN) with significant experience may be considered. Additionally, must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Candidate must have at least 3 years of clinical practice experience as a family nurse practitioner.
- Commitment to learner-centered education, innovative educational models, and readiness to participate in interprofessional educational opportunities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in various Learning Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with or understanding of online/distance-mediated educational learning and teaching, including use of learning technologies.
- Experience with simulation technology and curriculum development for simulation experiences.
- Prior didactic teaching experiences. Teaching experience in a Family Nurse Practitioner program is preferred.
- Clinical education.
