Director of Clinical Education - FNP tracks

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for the Director of Clinical Education beginning in August 2025.

The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is a practicing, licensed, nurse practitioner who in collaboration with the FNP Program Director, has the responsibility of overseeing clinical education and student clinical placement for the MSN, DNP and Post-MSN Certification Programs’ Family Nurse Practitioner tracks.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) from an accredited institution preferred; master’s degree in nursing (MSN) with significant experience may be considered. Additionally, must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Candidate must have at least 3 years of clinical practice experience as a family nurse practitioner.
• Commitment to learner-centered education, innovative educational models, and readiness to participate in interprofessional educational opportunities.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in various Learning Management Systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with or understanding of online/distance-mediated educational learning and teaching, including use of learning technologies.
• Experience with simulation technology and curriculum development for simulation experiences.
• Prior didactic teaching experiences. Teaching experience in a Family Nurse Practitioner program is preferred.
• Clinical education.
