Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of Dual Credit Initiatives provides strategic leadership and coordination for the planning, development and implementation of K-12 partnerships and dual credit initiatives. This position collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders including K-12 districts to develop high-quality dual credit offerings. A strong understanding of secondary and post-secondary curriculum is essential. Working in partnership with academic deans and college leadership, the Director advances the college's mission providing leadership implementing dual credit offerings throughout our region.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for all CVTC dual credit initiatives including High School Academies, Start College Now, Transcripted Credit and contracted courses.
  • Develop partnerships between school districts and CVTC to create career pathways that support students' academic and career planning goals.
  • Foster relationships between CVTC, K-12 school districts, and community partners that strengthen and promote dual credit opportunities throughout the region.
  • Coordinate Career Prep grant activities and serve as CVTC's Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Career Prep Coordinator.
  • Participate in regional high school meetings and events (e.g., school board presentations, parent and student informational sessions, college and career fairs, and exploratory activities for middle and high school students.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement grant initiatives that support dual enrollment opportunities.
  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and fiscal oversight of grants supporting K-12 initiatives.
  • Provide fiscal oversight for all budget resources that support K-12 initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to offer career pathway exploration opportunities for students, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate dual credit partnership events in coordination with faculty, Academic Leaders, and Professional Development to ensure professional development opportunities are provided for K-12 faculty.
  • Visit high schools to establish and maintain dual credit offerings and provide presentations to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to advance the continuous improvement of internal K-12 systems and processes.
  • Serve on various internal and external committees to foster collaboration and partnerships.
  • Provide access to credit programming for districts involved in youth apprenticeships.
  • Provide credit programming through partnerships with local CESA agencies.
  • Oversee and monitor progress of the K-12 initiatives.

  • Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Office 365 Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including some evenings and weekends) and travel to various campuses, schools and other sites in CVTC's 11-county district as needed to fulfill responsibilities of this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Career and Technical Education or other education field, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in K-12 education.
  • Preference will be given to those with demonstrated understanding of dual credit, secondary education and career and technical education.

In evaluating candidates for this position, the College may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties of position.
