Brief Position Overview

The Nursing Program Director will provide overall administrative direction and coordination for the Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Registered Nursing program. The program director will administer and manage the functions of the programs including analysis, planning and strategic formation of goals, and the implementation of plans for program development and evaluation. This includes the analyzing of program operations and needs to determine potential enhancements or improvements to procedures and activities. The Program Director will develop and/or recommend supporting policies and procedures. The Program Director also provides direct supervision for Nursing faculty, both full-time and part-time. This position may also require teaching duties.

Great Falls College in Great Falls, Montana, is seeking an experienced and visionary Nursing Program Director to provide leadership, innovation, and strategic direction for our nursing program.

As Program Director, you will have the rank, authority, and institutional support needed to effectively manage and advance the program. You will oversee curriculum development, implementation, and continuous evaluation to ensure student success, faculty excellence, and ongoing compliance with accreditation standards. Your leadership will foster collaboration, professional growth, and a strong culture of academic and clinical excellence.

This is a 12-month position with a typical on-campus schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with some flexibility possible.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

•Current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Montana

•A graduate degree in nursing from a nationally recognized accredited program

•At least 2 years of experience in nursing practice

•At least 2 years of experience in nursing education

•Educational preparation or experience in curriculum development and administration

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

•Experience in nursing education, including didactic and clinical teaching at the level of the program’s highest terminal degree

•Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office software and education specific software
