Director of Resolutions
With the vision of supporting the values and mission of the Civil Rights Compliance Office, the Director of Resolutions will support a centralized Civil Rights Compliance function that will be a leading model in higher education. The Civil Rights Compliance Office coordinates Ohio State's legal and regulatory resolution requirements for all protected class harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct complaints affecting students, faculty, staff, volunteers, visitors, and others in addition to the protection of youth. Reporting to the Title VI Coordinator and Assistant Vice President, the Director of Resolutions is responsible for helping develop, maintain, and coordinate the resolution processes as they relate to leading the regulatory resolution requirements of the Civil Rights Compliance Office (e.g. Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and ADA/504). The resolutions process includes both informal and formal resolutions, including adjudications and hearings. The Director of Resolutions, in conjunction with subject matter experts in CRCO, the Office of Legal Affairs and other key offices, is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as they relate to resolution options, through informal and formal resolution processes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; seven (7) years of experience conducting adjudications or equivalent experience; demonstrated ability to manage individuals and highly sensitive, confidential information; demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving techniques, and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to analyze regulatory and other legal developments; proficiency with Microsoft Office products and electronic databases.
Desired Qualifications:
Masters degree or Juris Doctor in a related field; Title VI, Title VII, or Title IXrelated training or certification through a nationally recognized organization; demonstrated experience adjudicating civil rights and/or Title IX matters; demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures related to resolution processes; demonstrated experience with administrative and hearing processes in a university setting; ability to maintain neutrality and work effectively under stress; demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus and university partners; demonstrated ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local equal opportunity and nondiscrimination laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, FERPA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Violence Against Women Act, the Age Discrimination Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and other applicable laws and regulations prohibiting harassment, discrimination, or retaliation; Hearing Officer Training/Certification; Mediation Certification; Restorative Justice training; demonstrated background working with diverse constituencies; demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

The Target Hiring Range for this position is $111,100 to $145,250 per year.
