Director of Track & Field and Cross Country - Bellarmine University
The Director of Track & Field and Cross Country oversees all aspects of the university's track and field and cross country programs. This position requires a dynamic leader committed to ensuring equity and fostering an inclusive environment for all athletes and staff. The director will manage both men's and women's programs, providing equal opportunities, resources, and support for all teams and individuals. The Director of Track & Field and Cross Country is a member of the Department of Athletics and responsible for operating a Division I men's and women's track & field and cross-country program within the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Conference, and Bellarmine University.
- Manage all aspects of the men's and women's track and field and cross country program, including practices, coaching staff, recruiting, video analysis, equipment, facilities, travel, scheduling, and competitions.
- Promote and ensure equitable treatment and resources for men's and women's teams, including facilities, coaching, travel, and scholarships.
- Develop and manage the program's operational budget, ensuring equitable allocation of resources.
- Recruit academically proficient and athletically capable student-athletes for all six teams for enrollment at the University.
- Develop and oversee training of both programs that promote peak performance while prioritizing student-athlete well-being and safety.
- Other interactions include but are not limited to individual meetings with students for off-the-track goals, check-ins with players and university resources about academic performance, resources needed, connections, and references to help with life skills and career development like job shadowing and internships, etc.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, working effectively within a culture of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations.
- Responsible for NCAA compliance within the men's and women's track and field and cross country programs.
- Works cooperatively with athletic department personnel, campus community members, alums, and donors.
- Abide by and comply with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the Department of Athletics and University.
- Contribute to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
