Director of TRIO Programs
Description of Work:
The Director of TRIO, provides leadership in the planning, development and administration of federally funded pre-college and college TRIO programs (Educational Talent Search, Student Support Services, Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math-Science).
The Director of TRIO will:
- Serve as the named Project Director for each grant and have a solid foundation of the needs and requirements of each grant program.
- Responsible for overall grant objectives, compliance, assessment, annual reporting, financial/ budget development, management, and performance of all TRIO grants.
- Work collaboratively to maintain high-quality programs that are focused on student access, opportunity, and academic success.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff of each grant program area.
- Provide and support professional development activities to promote staff growth and continuous learning.
- Build and maintain relationships and connections with public school district partners, participants, parents, community representatives and cultivation of donors interested in supporting student success and degree completion.
- Ensures awareness and understanding of student access and opportunity programs by providing presentations and networking.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in educational administration, educational leadership, general business or a related field.
- At least three years of experience leading programs focused on educational access and opportunity for low-income, first generation, or disabled students.
- At least two years of experience supervising staff.
- Experience successfully developing, implementing, and managing a departmental budget.
- Experience managing and meeting grant expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct work experience with TRIO programs: Student Support Services, Educational Talent Search, or Upward Bound programs.
- Grant writing experience.
