Job Description
The Director, Procurement Services reports to the Associate Vice President, Finance & University Controller and provides leadership, support and direction for the strategy and operations of the Procurement Services and Accounts Payable departments, a team of 15 with 2 direct reports. Specifically oversees the entire purchasing-to-payment cycle, manages complex bidding and negotiating supplier and vendor contracts; and ensures compliance for the cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while adhering to University policies and state, and federal regulations. In addition, the Director has oversight of Accounts Payable whose functions include ensuring timely, accurate vendor payments, expense reimbursements, and compliance with IRS regulations.
This is an in-office position.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $171,600 to $214,500; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required; advanced business degree is preferred.
- Certification by a recognized professional organization is required including Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Associate in Contract Management (CACM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP).
- 10+ years of progressively responsible procurement and management of accounts payable, including a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Prior experience in a higher education institution or Fortune 1000 company preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong ability to accomplish all aspects of the procurement management function, and considerable ability to train and motivate personnel to accomplish the objectives of the department.
