Director, Research Ethics, Governance and Assurance

As the Director, Research Ethics, Governance and Assurance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how world class research is conducted, governed and trusted. As a senior member of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Portfolio leadership team, you will lead the University's research ethics, integrity, governance and assurance functions.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• lead the design and continuous improvement of the University's research governance and assurance framework
• provide strategic leadership of human research ethics, animal ethics and animal welfare governance systems
• advise on complex, high risk and sensitive research proposals and integrity matters
• lead institutional research integrity frameworks, including the management of allegations and investigations
• oversee research data governance frameworks, including emerging risks such as artificial intelligence
• establish and oversee research assurance, compliance monitoring and risk reporting across the research lifecycle
• provide authoritative advice to the Pro Vice Chancellor (Research) and senior leaders on governance, ethics and integrity matters
• represent the University with regulators and external stakeholders as required
• lead, develop and mentor high performing teams and build institutional capability in ethical research practice.
