Job Summary:
ClinImmune - The Center for Clinical Immunology has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Center Administrator (Business Services Program Director) position.
The Center Administrator coordinates policies and procedures and oversees the implementation of business operations within ClinImmune - The Center for Clinical Immunology, Department of Medicine. Working under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director of ClinImmune as well as the Director of Finance in the Department of Medicine, the Administrator has authority over the business affairs, funds, and resources of the Center. This includes collaboration with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operation of infrastructure systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of ClinImmune. This position will supervise and oversee multiple areas of clinical laboratory services, accounts receivable/payable, purchasing, office management, IT and facility operations for the HLA Laboratory, University of Colorado Cord Blood Bank, Saint Louis Cord Blood Bank, Cellular Therapy Program, and Research activities. The Center Administrator is responsible for aligning the Center activities with the policies and procedures of the Department, School of Medicine, and University of Colorado. This position represents the Center within the Department and the School of Medicine, and the University of Colorado, providing essential communication, and networking for the effective functioning of these entities. The Center Administrator position is largely financial focused and requires someone with strong financial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates and serves as the staff representative on the Center's Leadership Team and is responsible for collaborating and building solutions to operational and financial matters as well as advocating for staff and related staff resources.
- In conjunction with the Center Executive Director, this position is responsible for knowing, understanding, and advocating for top center-related priorities to the Department of Medicine, UCH partners, and the SOM Dean's Office.
- For the Center leadership team, the Center staff, and center/division administrators in the DOM, this position actively works to drive performance through engagement, commitment, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Fiscal responsibility and management of all funds of the Center including state, federal, auxiliary, gift, endowment funds, grant and contract funds, and CU MEDICINE/clinical funds. Also manages the financial aspects of operations and staffing, faculty recruitment, and other short- and long-term planning functions.
- Provides oversite of budget preparation, controls, and regularly monitors revenue and expenditure activity for each source of funds.
- Administers policies, rules, and regulations from federal, state, University, CU MEDICINE, and other sources. Administers and coordinates regulations and standards related to business management, clinical, research and educational administration.
- Coordinates personnel matters for the center, including position establishment, recruitment, hiring and supervision of staff, performance planning and appraisal, and termination processes.
- Participates in planning activities for the Center, including long and short-range planning. Works with the Center Executive Director and other faculty members as needed or requested to analyze and report existing and/or new programs and ventures to interested parties.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, healthcare administration, public administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- Six (6) years of professional management that includes direct responsibility for financial administration, policy coordination, and personnel management.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in accounting, business, health care management, finance, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Financial or administrative experience in a university or healthcare setting.
- Supervisory experience in a university or healthcare setting.
- Prior experience with the University's PeopleSoft finance and human resources management system.
- Prior experience in managing clinical and/or grant revenue.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Strong financial management skills.
- A comprehensive understanding of academic medical institutions, financial structure and operational standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage funds effectively, from a variety of sources and with the use of a variety of financial management software applications.
- Ability to establish work priorities, provide follow-through, and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to successfully plan, organize, implement, and coordinate financial and administrative activities in a diverse and complicated system.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and assign or reorganize tasks to meet the Division's overall strategic goals.
Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $83,631 - $106,379.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
