"Division Director, Biomedical Informatics and Data Science & Associate/Full Professor"

The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida is seeking a Director for the Division of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science at the rank of associate or full professor.

This position is part of the University of Florida pre-eminence initiative. The individual will provide strategic leadership for biomedical informatics and lead their own research program. They will direct a division with 14 biomedical informatics faculty, 30 staff, and 40 graduate students.

The Department offers degrees in biomedical informatics and health outcomes and implementation science, with funding from NIH, NCI, PCORI, CMS, and state agencies.

The University of Florida provides resources like high-performance computing and partnerships with NVIDIA. The Director will lead efforts in:

• Strategic leadership: Aligning with university goals, expanding vision, cultivating partnerships, and recruiting faculty.
• Research: Leading programs in AI, machine learning, and data science; securing grants; mentoring investigators; and building multidisciplinary projects.
• Education: Enhancing programs and developing curricula in AI and digital health.
• Collaborative activities: Partnering with key directors and initiatives for interdisciplinary research.

Expected Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in bioinformatics, health informatics, medical informatics, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or related fields, or M.D. with additional informatics training.

Preferred Qualifications: Expertise demonstrated by Ph.D., track record of federal funding, and national distinction in research and teaching.
