"Division of Arts and Sciences Imperial Valley Visiting Faculty for AY 2026-2027"

Description

SDSU-Imperial Valley is accepting applications for a temporary, 1-year, non-renewable, Visiting Faculty position for the fall 2026 and spring 2027 academic semesters. The position will be based in the city of Calexico, CA.

Location

SDSU Imperial Valley is a college and branch campus of San Diego State University, situated in the City of Calexico, approximately 120 miles from the main campus in San Diego, on the border with Mexico. The Calexico campus is located on an eight-acre city block in the heart of Calexico's civic center near the US-Mexico border.

SDSU-Imperial Valley is located in Imperial County, a rural, agriculture region, consisting of the Calexico, El Centro, and Brawley micropolitan areas along with several other small towns within the Colorado Desert section of the greater Sonoran Desert. Imperial County has an estimated population of over 180,000 residents. Due to its proximity to the Mexican border, the campus serves a student body composed largely of groups that are historically under-represented in higher education.

• Forensic Psychology
• Behavioral Neuroscience
• Neuropsychology
• Cognitive Neuroscience

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree or terminal degree in their field. ABDs may be considered depending on experience and training.
• University teaching experience
• Demonstrated currency in subject matter
• Demonstrated ability or interest in working with underrepresented populations in higher education

As of July 2024, the classification salary range is $5,507 - $15,211 per month. Most Visiting Faculty employees are hired at the beginning of the range.
