The Division of Environment and Sustainability is looking for a motivated Research Assistant with a strong background in health data analysis to join our research team. The position involves working with large-scale health and environmental datasets to investigate the relationship between air pollution and health outcomes. The work will contribute to advancing knowledge in environmental health research and to the development of robust health risk assessment tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support data acquisition, cleaning, and management of large health and environmental datasets.
- Conduct statistical analyses to examine associations between environmental exposures and health outcomes.
- Assist in the development and testing of analytical models for assessing short- and long-term health risks.
- Prepare technical reports, figures, and presentations summarizing analytical results.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to collaborative discussions on methodology, analysis, and reporting.
- Provide support for dissemination activities, including preparation of conference materials and potential contributions to academic publications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental Science, Data Science, or related fields.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS) for data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience handling large datasets.
- Experience working with health-related or environmental datasets.
- Familiarity with air pollution, epidemiology, or health impact assessment.
- Prior experience contributing to research projects, reports, or academic publications.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Chinese language ability is advantageous.
(Duration: 1 year)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
