Doctoral Capstone Coordinator-Occupational Therapy (25-35)
Francis Marion University is seeking a qualified and experienced faculty member for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program to support doctoral capstone development and implementation. This individual will review capstone project proposals, guide students in selecting their doctoral committee, organize proposal defenses, and review IRB submissions as needed. They will collaborate with students, faculty mentors, content experts, and committee members to establish appropriate doctoral experiential goals.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the Department of Occupational Therapy and the School of Health Sciences during the program’s initial accreditation process, ensuring adherence to all capstone-related requirements as outlined in Section D.1.0 of the 2023 ACOTE Standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Minimum of 3 years of documented clinical experience as a registered occupational therapist, including teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level and scholarship.
- Demonstrated aptitude in the research process.
- Current SC state licensure as an occupational therapist or eligibility for OT licensure in South Carolina.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with students to create objectives for the capstone project, as well as goals for project development and mentorship.
- Engages in collaborative scholarship and internal/external service activities, which identifies and addresses medical needs of the regional community.
This is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment. Candidates with expertise in Occupational Therapy are considered, with preference for experience in developing, managing, and overseeing research and/or doctoral projects.
