Doctoral Lecturer in Industrial-Organizational Psychology
The Department of Psychology in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), invites applications for a doctoral-level lecturer in Industrial and Organizational (I-O) Psychology to begin August 2026. This position is focused on expanding curricular and experiential learning opportunities for students in our undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and masters programs who are interested in careers related to Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
Undergraduate students served by our faculty include those pursuing a General Psychology BA through the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, those pursuing an I-O psychology BBA through the Zicklin School of Business, and those in our new Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Psychology, which has specialized tracks in both Counseling/Clinical and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Our Masters programs include a Masters of Science in I-O Psychology, Executive Masters in I-O Psychology and a Masters of Mental Health Counseling.
The teaching responsibilities of this position will include undergraduate-level research methods or statistics, introductory and advanced I-O courses, and a masters-level I-O research practicum. The service responsibilities of this position will include providing leadership and career development experiences for the I-O track of the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program.
Lecturer faculty are considered 'master teachers' who occupy full-time faculty lines focused almost entirely on teaching and service (no research requirements). Mentoring and advising are central to this position. Service may also include serving on committees and contributing to projects and programs, particularly those related to teaching and learning. Lecturer faculty participate as full faculty members of the Psychology Department, the College, and the University. In their fifth year, lecturers are eligible for promotion to a Certificate of Continuous Employment (tenure-like status) based on teaching excellence and dedicated service.
