DP2 Sports Dietitian
Position Purpose
The Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2) Sports Dietitian provides comprehensive sports nutrition services to varsity student-athletes and teams, and the wider undergraduate student body through the Teevens Center. This is an Athletics-based position reporting to the Director of Sports Nutrition with a dotted line to the Teevens Center Director and will contribute to advancing two key pillars: 1. Elevating the competitiveness of Dartmouth Athletics 2. "DP2 for All" - extending peak performance principles across campus.
Varsity Athletics - Individual and Team Performance Nutrition
- Provides individual education and counseling for varsity student athletes on optimal nutrition for training, competition, travel, recovery, weight management, hydration, supplementation, and immunity, translating the latest scientific evidence into practical recommendations.
- Develops educational materials, presentations, and learning opportunities for student athletes, performance staff, coaches, and teams on the above topics.
- Works with coaches and operations personnel to identify and meet specific team nutritional needs for training and competition, such as on-site fueling options and sourcing, travel snacks, timing and sourcing of team meals, and menu development.
- Collaborates with the DP2 Director of Sports Nutrition to ensure services reflect best practices and align with departmental and DP2 goals

Dartmouth Peak Performance Integrated Support Team
- Participates as part of the Dartmouth Peak Performance (DP2) interdisciplinary performance team to align efforts to support the holistic health, wellness, and development of student athletes.
- Collaborates with primary care clinicians/counselors, sports medicine, and athletics staff on the identification and proper clinical care for nutrition issues related to medical concerns, such as disordered eating, diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, digestive diseases, food allergies, and more.

Collaboration & Operations
- Works with stakeholders across Athletics, the Teevens Center, and Campus & Community Life to align programming and maximize impact.
- Tracks participation and engagement metrics to inform continuous improvement.
- Supports communications (website, social media, print) to highlight programs and outcomes. Tracks and documents nutrition programming, services, and outcomes for continuous improvement and to maximize impact on performance outcomes.
- Demonstrates and maintains detailed knowledge on NCAA, Ivy League, Dartmouth College, and department rules and regulations.

Teevens Center - "DP2 for All" Programming & Student Engagement
- Adapts and delivers group nutrition programming for club sport student athletes and the wider Dartmouth student community
- Develops embedded learning experiences and peer-led initiatives
- Coordinates with campus partners (e.g. Rockefeller Center, Student Life, Wellness Center) for scheduling, logistics, and program integration.
- Designs and conducts pilot programs with built-in assessment measures, using evaluation data to refine and enhance offerings.
- Supports communications and event promotion through digital and print channels.
