Job Description
The Assisting Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of Eagle's Nest ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional customer service. This role involves managing student staff, coordinating meal production, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively manage a dynamic food service environment. This is a full-time, 10-month second shift position.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff to ensure efficient and effective dining operations. Develop and implement training programs focusing on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Scheduling and Coverage: Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak and off-peak hours. Adjust staffing levels as necessary to meet operational demands.
- Menu Development and Pricing: Collaborate with culinary staff to design creative and current menus that align with student preferences and dietary needs. Regularly update menus and pricing on platforms such as Grubhub to reflect changes.
- Inventory and Ordering: Manage inventory levels of food and supplies, placing orders with multiple vendors to maintain stock. Utilize software tools to track inventory and ordering processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimizing waste.
- Technology Utilization: Maintain and update the Grubhub app with current menu offerings and pricing. Utilize Quadpoint software to manage registers, process transactions, and ensure accurate ordering and billing.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Monitor food preparation and service areas to ensure adherence to food safety standards and cleanliness. Conduct regular inspections to maintain compliance with health regulations.
- Operational Support: Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Address and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service, preferably in a higher education or student dining setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in using scheduling and point-of-sale software.
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
