DEPARTMENT: Maintenance and Grounds

SUPERVISED BY: Director of Maintenance and Grounds

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt Hourly

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Electrician properly installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all electrical components, circuits and electrical equipment. This position also updates any electrical renovations or circuits as a moment's notice.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Performs soldering of circuits.
• Provides an electrically safe atmosphere for students, faculty and sisters on campus. (Fire Alarm System)
• Maintains all electrical systems.
• Upgrades all wiring systems, hardware and small appliances.
• Assists all other trades.
• Provides a pleasant workplace for personnel.
• Performs all other duties as may be required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two to three years' experience in Commercial Electrical work
• Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code, wire sizing, protective fusing and testing equipment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Experience from a technical school of electricity
• Five years' experience in Commercial Electrical work

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to climb and work in confined areas
• Ability when necessary to lift between 50-80 pounds
