Job Details

JOB DESCRIPTION: Part-time staff will provide technical support for ECE laboratories, repair and calibrate basic equipment, and procure, maintain and manage ECE equipment and supplies.

OUTCOME: Well managed and maintained inventory of equipment and supplies and adequate technical support for laboratory and project work of ECE students and faculty.

Essential Functions

• Procure, organize, maintain, repair and replace equipment and supplies used in the ECE program, including 3D printers. 30%
• Provide undergraduate instruction in safe and proper use of electronic equipment. 10%
• Assist engineering students with assigned projects. 30%
• Assist faculty in laboratory preparations, primarily in engineering design courses. 15%
• Supervise work study students in their performance of duties. 10%
• Member of the Campus Safety Committee and Lab Safety Sub-Committee. 5%

Experience and Education Required

• At least one year experience in the operation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of basic electronic equipment.
• At least one year experience in instruction in the area of electronic instrumentation.
• At least one year experience in the supervision and coordination of small project teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple programs
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Experience in providing learning skills programs/assistance to undergraduate students
