Job Summary
Produce high-quality, workforce-aligned IT/Cyber training courses quickly and consistently. The Training Developer converts approved blueprints and item banks into complete course packages (lessons, labs, slides, quizzes/exams, learner artifacts), performs light NICE/DoD 8140 tagging, packages materials for the LMS, and resolves defects from pilots, enabling reliable delivery to K-12, higher-ed, government, and industry partners.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- CURRICULUM DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, AND MAINTENANCE: Design, develop, and update multi-modal cybersecurity curricula, labs, and instructional materials aligned to the NICE Framework and DoD 8140. Build lessons, labs, slides, handouts from approved blueprints and templates; maintain consistent voice, formatting, and accessibility standards Integrate emerging cybersecurity threat intelligence, industry standards, and partner requirements into courseware. Ensure all content is engaging, technically accurate, and meets adult learning best practices.
- PILOT SUPPORT AND DEFECT REMEDIATION: Support teach-backs/pilots, collect feedback, resolve content defects within SLAs, and re-issue versioned materials.
- ASSESSMENT CONSTRUCTION: Assemble quizzes/exams from vetted item banks; map items to outcomes; maintain version control and change logs.
- LMS PACKAGING & SECTION READINESS: Package content for Canvas; provide section-ready shells, metadata, rubrics, and upload instructions for the Training Director.
- WORKFORCE MAPPING: Apply light NICE/DoD 8140 tags using provided mapping worksheets; attach alignment artifacts to course folders.
- DOCUMENTATION & REUSE: Maintain runbooks, lab checklists, asset lists, and quick start guides for instructors; ensure artifact reuse across offerings.
- COLLABORATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Partner with Training Team on schedules, readiness, and quality; participate in item-analysis reviews and content refresh cycles.
- INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT: Provide limited classroom or lab instruction (approximately 5% of time) in cybersecurity or related IT subjects as needed to support GCITC course delivery. Facilitate hands-on learning, reinforce technical concepts, and assess learner understanding in alignment with course objectives and NICE Framework competencies.
- OTHER: Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (IT/Cyber/IS or related).
OR
Associate's degree (IT/Cyber or related) and 5+ years building courseware/technical content and 1 relevant certification required (2+ preferred).
OR
organization and 7+ years creating technical courseware/labs or detailed technical documentation in IT/Cyber and 2+ relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Network+/Linux+; Cisco CCNA/CyberOps; AWS Cloud Practitioner/Associate; entry-level GIAC).
Preferred Qualifications
IT or cyber related professional certifications
Knowledge of NIST frameworks, cybersecurity industry, key players, trends, and opportunities
Prior experience working with recognized professional education or credentialing granting organizations
Knowledge of Bloom's Taxonomy and relevant theory and best practices for adult education and training
Experience in utilizing learning management systems and other academic technologies to deliver instruction
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Experience with item banks, rubrics, and pilot remediation
Exposure to K-12/CTAE or workforce programs
Additional certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AWS-SA, Linux+, CEH, PMP) relevant to course topics
Experience with cyber ranges, virtual lab orchestration, and/or AI-driven learning technologies.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B11
Salary: Minimum $56,600/annually
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
