The Role
Reporting to the Head of Employment Tax, the role will be responsible for increasing employment and expatriate tax knowledge, understanding and compliance across the University and related areas.
Working with multiple stakeholders, you will provide practical and technical advice to ensure best practice is adopted.
- Create and monitor policies and processes relating to employment and expatriate taxes
- Provide technical guidance, to the University, on specific employment tax and expatriate tax issues
- Highlight areas for continuous improvement
- Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the University's employment status for tax process
- Advise on the set-up of and compliance relating to globally mobile employee
- Assist in projects across the University
Your Skills
You will be passionate, hard-working and driven. It is important that you are excited about the challenge and opportunities that the University presents.
You will be expected to have:
- Strong UK employment tax and expatriate tax expertise
- Experience of working in an in-house tax team for a large multinational or advising such businesses in a professional services organisation, with experience of providing practical advice to business and non-tax professionals
- CTA or ACA qualified (or similar by experience)

Location
The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
