Location: Spokane Falls Main Campus, Spokane

Department: SFCC English

This is an adjunct (part-time) position with starting salary of $40.83 - $86.87 per hour based on workload category. Compensation is pro-rated according to workload assigned.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare for and instruct classes in English in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.
• Provide availability to students through office hours, email, and timely communication.
• Communicate expectations, establish grading criteria, evaluate student progress, and provide feedback.
• May participate in department and faculty meetings.
• Comply with state and federal laws and established procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• An earned Master's degree in English or related field from an accredited institution.
• Ability to teach in person and/or hybrid.
• Prior teaching experience in English.
• Effective communication in oral and written English.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues, staff, students, and administrators.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to two years of full-time post-secondary teaching.
• Community college teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success in diverse classes.
• Well-qualified generalist in English or related subject.

Benefits Information

Adjunct faculty qualify for benefits after two consecutive quarters at 50% or more of full-time load, including medical, dental, life insurance, retirement plans, and leave accruals as per the faculty master contract.
