Educational and Experience Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in related field. Two years relevant specialist experience or experience in a related field. Certifications may be required. Experience in Higher Education and specialized work is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position: Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Office of the Registrar.
Primary Responsibilities: Provides advanced phone, email, and/or in-person support for registration and specific duties related to student registration. Responds to advanced registration and resource questions with full knowledge and understanding of the student registration system. Aids students in adding, dropping, withdrawing, and all steps associated with these processes. May lead specialized projects/implementations related to enrollment processes. May schedule and facilitate meetings with campus partners. Assists with system upgrade testing, resolution process troubleshooting, and implementing changes as guided by leadership. Supports leadership with start-of-term and end-of-term processing. Conducts research and prepares relevant information on registration processes to distribute internally and to campus partners. Coordinates, compiles, and evaluates data to ensure efficiency. Assists in creating, interpreting, and/or implementing internal policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure effective and efficient operation. Accountable for the execution and follow-through of complex and technical responsibilities. Plans, directs, supervises, collaborates, and participates in special projects. Maintains a working knowledge of university, state, and federal policy that impacts the Registrar's office and can share this information verbally and in writing. Responsible for developing and facilitating enrollment-related training to the department, campus partners, and/or students. Maintains confidentiality and a thorough understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Complies with all state and federal mandates, as well as university policy. Strong team collaboration skills required. Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, summarize information gathered, and implement processes to enhance the Registrar's Office and campus with collaborative team efforts. May support daily operations of the front counter and offer support and assistance to all staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Specifications: Must possess high level of comfort with communication platforms and/or technology tools to support effective communication to Registrar specific stakeholders. Strong communication skills, written communication skills, and ability to schedule and facilitate meetings. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature. Participates in committees within the department and across the university as assigned. Attend and participate in all required training workshops provided by the department, division, and university. Demonstrates an avid interest in continuously enhancing technical skills and learning new ones; applies advanced technical knowledge and innovation to enrollment service processes and complex functional problem-solving daily. Seeks guidance as needed and seeks out personal growth opportunities through Talent Management and avenues of growth provided through the division of Enrollment Success. Understands the Registrar's role in accomplishing the university's mission and fully comprehends Registrar processes to support student success. Dependability is crucial.
Some nights and weekends are required during peak periods. Occasional travel may be required.
