Position Summary:
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College seeks a Systems Administrator specializing in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The chosen candidate will be tasked with the day-to-day oversight and maintenance of the colleges ERP system, Colleague. This pivotal role centers on ensuring the stability, safeguarding the security, and optimizing the performance of the ERP system. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for investigating and implementing enterprise-level solutions tailored to the specific needs of the college. The ERP System Administrator plays a crucial part in sustaining institutional functions and advancing strategic objectives through proficient ERP resource management.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an adept IT professional to assume a central position in overseeing the colleges ERP system and pioneering innovative enterprise solutions to advance the institutions mission and strategic vision.
Required Education/Experience:
- Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in ERP system administration or related role, with hands-on experience administering Ellucian Colleague preferred
- Strong understanding of ERP system architecture, database management principles, and integration technologies.
- Knowledge of data security best practices, regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., FERPA), and ITIL framework principles.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Ellucian Colleague Administrator, Project Management Professional) are desirable.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in system monitoring and performance tuning, with experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Work Hours:
The Systems Administrator position at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College follows a standard work schedule of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Located at the North Campus in Salisbury, NC, this role requires weekly on-campus attendance to facilitate in-person collaboration, meetings, and support activities. Full-time on-campus presence may be necessary during designated reporting periods or blackout maintenance times to oversee critical operations and address emergent issues effectively. Additionally, occasional flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate evening or weekend work, especially during major system upgrades or urgent technical incidents. Efforts are made to provide advance notice and support work-life balance for employees while ensuring seamless IT support services for the college community.

Duty and Responsibility:
- ERP System Administration: Manage and maintain the ERP system, including system configuration, user access, security settings, and data integrity measures
- System Monitoring and Performance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the ERP system.
- System Upgrades and Maintenance: Coordinate and perform system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in collaboration with vendors and IT teams to keep the ERP system current and aligned with institutional needs
- Data Management: Oversee data management processes, including data backups, disaster recovery planning, and data migration activities, to safeguard sensitive information and ensure business continuity.
- User Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to end users on ERP system functionality, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures to enhance user proficiency and satisfaction.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with ERP vendors and service providers to address technical issues, negotiate contracts, and stay informed about product updates and roadmap developments.
- Enterprise Solutions Exploration: Research, evaluate, and recommend enterprise solutions and technologies that align with the colleges strategic objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects and initiatives, contributing expertise on ERP system capabilities and requirements to support project success.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of ERP system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation within ERP system operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance institutional effectiveness.
