Systems Specialist

Job Description

• Installs, configures, tests and debugs information technology systems including hardware, software, databases and peripherals.
• Maintains all system documentation.
• Maintains policies and procedures to ensure the reliability and security of the department's information technology resources and compliance with the University's standards.
• Provides training to end users or develops programs or documentation for end-user training. Provides technical support to end-users.
• Recommends new hardware or software to support the department's programs and activities.
• Writes programming code to provide reports and analyses for end-users.
• Participates in University-wide information technology strategic planning teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from and accredited institution.
• Two years' relevant experience.
• Programming experience.
• Experience installing and maintaining hardware and software.
• Experience maintaining system documentation.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Applicable industry certification or relevant experience.
• Must be available to provide system maintenance or end-user support outside of normal business hours.
