The Transfer Credit Evaluator supports the mission of the College by processing transfer credit for student enrollment; supporting students, advisors, and divisions/programs through degree progress audits; serving as a liaison for the College’s collaborative agreements, such as the Greater Greensboro Consortium; and certifying completion of program of study requirements for GTCC graduates.
The Transfer Credit Evaluator is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, equating, and processing transfer related credit for new, continuing, and returning students; providing professional assistance by serving as a resource for students, staff and faculty in determining appropriate interpretation and application of College policies and procedures as they relate to transfer credit; implementing transfer credit evaluation policies; overseeing data entry of transfer credit; supporting the reverse transfer initiative; processing course substitutions; and maintaining the TES database. Additional responsibilities include: understanding detailed preparation for registration, graduation/certificate audits, special credit awards, and researching accreditation eligibility and articulation agreements; managing the Greater Greensboro Consortium process for GTCC and being an active member of the inter-Educational Institution Consortium group; attending and participating in staff meetings; serving on teams and committees as assigned; attending training and professional development as required; and participating in projects.
The Transfer Credit Evaluator must maintain confidentiality and the security of records, and must be able to track institutional policy and procedures, curriculum programs, annual catalog, academic regulations, registration data systems, and graduation/degree requirements. This position is an integral part of the College’s Student Services team and provides superior customer service as s/he supports the goals and objectives of the Division. The Transfer Credit Evaluator reports to the Registrar.
Min Salary
$44,993.26
Mid Salary
$50,617.41 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

- Maintaining developmental education standards tables
- Reverse transfer auditing process
- Building non-course and advanced standing credit in Colleague
Contacts
- Daily: Dean/Department Chairs/Program Directors regarding policies and student records
- Daily: Student Success specialists regarding transcripts and evaluations
- Daily: faculty regarding course substitutions, grades, evaluations, and prerequisites
- Daily: Office of Admissions regarding student records
- Several times a week: Registrar and Assistant Registrar regarding planning
- Weekly: Admissions and Financial Aid staffs regarding discussions
- Monthly: Director of Student Success regarding advising
- Several times a semester: Completions Specialist regarding reverse transfer, graduation, and curriculum changes
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
Experience Required
- One year of previous college or university experience
- Data entry experience
Experience Preferred
- Two or more years of previous college or university experience
- Colleague experience
- Records Office experience
- Imaging software experience
KSA Required
- Critical thinking and organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge, good judgment, and the willingness to support and enforce college policy and procedures
- Strong written and oral communication abilities and human relations skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, team participation, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes
- Demonstrated computer proficiency; familiarity with integrating online and web-based tools and the willingness to implement those tools to assist students with transfer credit issues
- Strong project management skills coupled with the desire to work collaboratively with others
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision to achieve assigned duties
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, administration and the general public
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records
- General knowledge and experience working with traditional and non-traditional, multicultural post-secondary students
- Ability to travel to other campuses and off-site meetings
- Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance
Department/Job Specific Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as determined by the supervisor to cover the necessary hours; registration, graduation, and other heavy work periods will require additional hours; evening and weekend work may be required
- Must be able to maneuver independently among offices, buildings, campus locations, and off-site locations as necessary to complete job requirements
